Kyrgyz history

In the 1960s, the Danish author Hans Scherfig visited with his wife Kyrgyzstan. In "At the Kyrgyz" he tells about his meeting with the ancient people. About the foreign culture, hospitality and the people's close ties to nature.

The people of the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan lived as nomads in the rugged landscape for centuries until the short-after World War I was confronted with modern civilization when the country became part of the Soviet Union.
